Where to Stay in Bend

Hotels, Motels and B&Bs

Outside the Old St. Francis SchoolThe influx of clouds surrounding Mt. Bachelor and the traces of snow here in Bend can only mean one thing: ski season is upon us.  If you are coming to Bend for skiing or maybe to see friends and family over the weekend, there are several great options for travelers and families.

Outside at Old St. FrancisClose to downtown is The Old St. Francis School.  What was once a Catholic schoolhouse has been turned into a historic hotel, complete with a pub, movie house and Turkish bath.  If you're familiar with the magic the McMenamin's folk have done with properties in the Portland area, then you'll know that there's something magical here. Downtown Bend's many shops are within easy walking distance, and the mountain is a short drive from there.

The Phoenix Inn, also offers access to Downtown Bend, and many rooms offer majestic views of the Cascades in the distance.  If you are looking for truly upscale, the stylish and swanky Oxford Hotel fits the bill in style.

If you want to be really close to the mountain, you can't get closer than the Seventh Mountain Resort.  Just five miles out of Bend on Century Drive, it has been one of the go-to stops for powder lovers, and with several pools and hot tubs, an ice rink and three different restaurants to choose from, there's plenty to keep the family occupied.  If you've got a large group coming into town for a week of powder hunting, check out Bend Dutch Rentals, offering homes, condos and cabins close to the mountain and downtown.

For many years, the Riverhouse has been the place to stay when visiting Bend. Located on the Deschutes River, the Riverhouse offers top-notch amenities and access to the Bend River Promenade shops and galleries, as well as an award-winning steakhouse and lounge.  The amenities of Downtown Bend and the Old Mill are nearby as well.

Be sure to check out all of what Bend has to offer both the weary traveler and the can't-wait powder junkie.
